Its history got its start 10 centuries ago, in the golden years of the little town of Ravello, it was highly influenced by the Italian Renaissance, being the witness of the intrigues of some aristocratic families from Florence and Naples and reached its climax in full swing of the British Victorian  period, along with the accomplishment of the architectural&landscape painting dream of the lord-banker Ernest William Beckett (who extended its gardens); in the first half of the last century it became the property of a family from Geneva, that is, the Vuilleumier family  and was turned into a hotel, one of the most impressive and richly historical destinations on the Amalfi Coast, the place about which the gifted Mr. Vidal used to say in an interview given to Vogue magazine, exactly 40 years ago: “The most beautiful places I have ever seen during all my journeys is the open view from the belvedere of the Villei Cimbrone, in the  bright winter days, when the sun and sea are so vividly blue that you can`t distinguish one from another.”

De ce: because it is one of the most beautiful “Hotels de Charme” on the Mediterranean coast and because the entire mix of styles is so well preserved and so attractive, that neither Wagner, Piaget, Virginia Wolf, Churchill, nor Greta Garbo could resist its charm.

• A day of relaxation at the huge, awesome pool , for you to unwind.

• The rooms decorated with local ceramics and frescoes, but also the restaurant with a Michelin star “Il Flauto di Pan”.

• As the gardens have lots of visitors, expect to see many people jostle each other to admire them.

• The price is quite high, but it`s worth it and  the hotel is rather more suitable for the couples.
